DJ Ernie is the owner / operator of Sound Control DJ's. He began his DJ career in 1986 hosting teen dances at local campgrounds. A few years later he began performing at weddings and also became a club DJ. He quickly realized that what started many years ago as a hobby was indeed his passion and turned it into a full-time career in 2002. He takes great pride in his company and the success of every client's event. Ernie performs about 80 shows annually and has entertained thousands of guests at events such as weddings, school dances, proms, birthday and sweet 16 celebrations, bar/bat mitzvahs, graduation celebrations, corporate events, holiday parties and many other functions. He has an amazing ability to read the crowd and play just the right music. For him, being a good entertainer is about pleasing the crowd. Watching the people dance and having fun to the music he plays. Hearing the words "we had a great time, this was the best event ever" gives him great joy and is what keeps him motivated year after year. Ernie also brings a vast knowledge of music, sound and lighting to the table with a personality that clients love. He is always on top of the most recent music trends and current top hits making him a perfect fit for any school dance, prom, bar/bat mitzvah or kids show. DJ Scott's entertainment career started in 1986 as owner / operator of Scils Musical Entertainment. He joined Sound Control DJ's in 2003 and is one of our most requested DJ's.

With over a decade of entertainment experience and an unparalleled ability to cater to his clients' desires, Scott gets outstanding reviews from his clients year after year. For him, "people enjoying themselves and having fun on the dance floor is what it's all about."

Scott hosts about 125 shows annually ranging from elegant weddings to anniversary parties, birthday celebrations, bar/bat mitzvahs, karaoke parties and kids shows.

DJ Ron entered the entertainment profession in 1990 as owner /operator of Custom Melodies and performing at fraternity events for Union College in Schenectady. Over the next few years he decided to expand the business and began hosting a multitude of events. He was also presented with the opportunity to travel nationwide and perform in locations such as New York City, Boston, New Jersey, the Hamptons and Lake Tahoe. Ron was the first disc jockey to join the Sound Control DJ's team in 2003 and is one of our top DJ's. He performs at about 70 shows annually and has provided entertainment for hundreds of special events including weddings, corporate functions, birthday parties, anniversary parties, holiday parties, school proms and graduation celebrations. DJ Ron loves to see people having a great time. His interactive style and determination to please the crowd is what keeps him focused on performing at his best and earns him rave reviews from our clients. With his experience, dynamic personality and dedication, DJ Ron is sure to make your event unique and memorable.


Originally from Vermont, DJ Patrick migrated to the Capital Region in 2006 after experiencing exciting times in New York City and Los Angeles where he developed a strong performing arts background in theatre/film. He started his DJ career in 1997 as the on-board disc jockey for the cruise ship, Spirit of Ethan Allen II, in Burlington, Vermont. During this time he quickly established an outstanding reputation and provided entertainment for events such as wedding receptions, corporate parties and other special occasions. Upon coming to the Capital Region, Patrick sought to continue his DJ career and joined the Sound Control DJ's team in 2006. Since then he has earned many excellent reviews from satisfied customers while performing at events such as weddings, anniversary parties, corporate events, birthday parties and kids events. With his entertainment experience and outgoing personality, Patrick has the ability to combine just the right music and level of interaction to get your guests involved while placing the focus of the event on the guest(s) of honor. Furthermore, his experience as an event coordinator and master of ceremonies will also assure that your special occasion runs smoothly and according to your plans. DJ JS is the newest member of the Sound Control DJ's team. He got his start by cranking out tunes in local bars and at private parties for his friends and family. He quickly caught on to what it takes to be a successful DJ and decided to take his talent for entertaining to the next level. Jay has hosted many events ranging from sweet 16 celebrations to informal wedding receptions with great success. His fun upbeat approach will keep your party going and makes him the ideal DJ for your birthday, anniversary, school dance, graduation party or informal wedding celebration. His outgoing personality, professionalism and pleasing demeanor are qualities well liked by our clients. DJ JS has what it takes to make your party a success.


DJ Dave began his career playing a 12 string guitar in bars and clubs for over 8 years. His love of music and entertaining quickly drove him to becoming a disc jockey in 1988 hosting 60-80 shows annually from weddings to birthday parties, retirement parties, graduations, corporate events and holiday parties. Dave also specializes in the planning of your event from cocktail hour to playing your favorite dance songs from the oldies to today's hottest hits. Dave also has developed different skits that he performs to get the crowd involved. He is very open to guest requests and loves to have fun with the crowd. Dave is the perfect fit for any special occasion.


DJ Jay R. started his DJ career 3 years ago working for college radio station 88.3 The Saint and DJ'ing college events. The thrill he got from working these events gave him the ambition to seek out employment with Sound Control DJ's in 2006. Since then he has entertained many events from kids events to adult parties such as sweet 16 parties, school dances, graduation parties and birthday parties for all ages. He is very in tune with the younger generation and loves to get the kids involved and up on the dance floor. Jay R has had rave reviews from clients and would be a great fit for your next party or special occasion.


Melinda joined the company in August 2006 as our booking specialist. She has over 10 years of experience in the sales and service industry. She also holds a Bachelors degree in Business from the University at Albany. She can answer many of your questions about the services we offer or make an appointment to meet with our DJ's and would love to help you book your special occasion with Sound Control DJ's. Her commitment and dedication to providing our clients with excellent service makes her an invaluable asset to our company. Outside of work you can find her enjoying time with her new baby daughter and husband.
